Situated 60 miles north of Boston, the Portsmouth plant was the first facility designed to use 20 000-liter bioreactors and is the largest scale mammalian cell culture facility commissioned to date. The site also has a very strong regulatory history having hosted 16 regulatory inspections since 2001. These inspections have had very positive results for both Lonza and our clients in the form of approval for the manufacture of 5 commercial products.
