| Publication regarding changes in voting rights according to Art. 21 SESTA |
Lonza Group Ltd, Münchensteinerstrasse 38, 4002 Basel, announces that it has been informed by Zürcher Kantonalbank, Bahnhofstrasse 9, 8001 Zürich, per 6 November 2003 that as of 31 October 2003 Zürcher Kantonalbank exceeded the threshold of 10% and now hold 10,82% of the voting rights: 5,79% in terms of 2'922'942 registered shares and 5,03% in terms of derivatives.
